It’s with overwhelming sadness we announce on Friday, June 03, 2022 – Felismer Mejia Torres, went home to be with our Lord. She was a daughter, wife, mother, and aunt. Happy, was caring, considerate, friendly and highly respected.
Married for 46 years, to the late Prajedes “Tato” M. Torres Jr, husband. After the loss of her husband, and son, she was a pillar of strength for her family. She taught her children to obey authority with morals, and manners.
Preceded in death by her Grandparents: Bruno and Adela Mejia, Lorenzo and Nasaria Nunez, Parents: Cristobal and Sofia Nunez - Mejia, and siblings, Mary Jane, Pete, Bruno, Alberto, George, Cristobal Jr, and Sarah. Son, Oscar Mejia Torres.
Survived by - her brother, Oscar (Beatrice) Nunez.
Children – Fred, Palmira, Anna Marie, Prajedes III, Gloria Jean, Mary Jane, Rose Marie, Lisa Ann, Virginia, Chris, Michelle, and Yvette.
Numerous – grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Felismer “Happy” Torres was a prime example of, “A Child of God,” she walked in the Christian faith that displayed humble beginnings and was kind – hearted. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Happy, loved the Lord, with all her heart and was a true prayer warrior. She read the Bible in its entirety many times. She would often display her biblical knowledge and wisdom through ministering the word of God, quoting scriptures and offering encouragement to all she encountered.
While, at home she loved seeing western movies, especially Cheyenne, and Wells Fargo. She and my Dad, occasionally; enjoyed a good game of poker, at family barbeques. Her interest was to color art books to pass time.
Happy, was a second mother to many close friends, because of her willingness to be affectionate, loving, and consoling, in their time of need.
During the holiday season, it was time for a feast, with plenty of food, laughter, making tamales,
homemade cocoa, and cookies, for everyone’s enjoyment. At, church functions she always volunteered to make her famous potato salad and chicken mole.
She was a generous hospitable, hostess bringing friends and family together for posadas, caroling, and bible studies, with unconditional love for everyone whose path she crossed.
When anyone, walked into her home, you would feel welcomed, all she asked, “Is that herself and her home be respected.”
When you left her home she would say: “God bless you, and don’t forget to pray.”
While being cared for in the hospital as she knew the end was near. Her wish was to be in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her children and family.
Tired, and weak, throughout her journey she was ready to meet her Lord and Savior with open arms, peacefully to rest in His eternal kingdom. She leaves quite a legacy behind!
