

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Mary S. Landin and Felix Landin, Sr.; his brother, Amando and his son, Alex.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda M. Landin of 58 years; his two sons, Felix IV (Jean) and Aldo Allen (Jackie) Landin; his daughter, Erika Lanette Penirelli (Michael); 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Alice Wycoff (Rick) and Lena Foster (Fred); brother, Armando (Eva) Landin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Felix graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1962. He left the next month for the Texas National Guard. He was sent to Fort Leonard, Missouri and 3 months later, he was sent to Fort Ord, California. When he returned, he joined the National Guard Reserves for 6 years. He made his home in Corpus Christi, Texas and married his wife, Yolanda.
His career started in retail. He started working for Gulf Merchandise Corp (GMC). Later, he worked for the Woolco Department Store in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was transferred to Laredo, Texas with the same company as Division Manager. Five years later, he was transferred to Brownsville, Texas as Assistant Store Manager for 6 years. He later worked for Gibson Discount Stores in Brownsville, Texas. Wanting to return to Corpus Christi, he took another transfer with Gibsons, which he managed until it closed.
He joined Gibralter Mausoleum Corporation until the company changed names and became SCI. He became Manager at Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home in Robstown, Texas. He managed Rosehill Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he retired for the first time. He then returned to Memory Gardens Cemetery, where he worked 5 more years, and retired at the age of 70. He loved his work and cemetery sales. He received many prestigious awards during his career from SCI.
He was a graduate of L.U.T.C. Felix attended and obtained his Diploma in Business Personnel through the Lifewriters Council. He attended Texas Association of School Boards and the Texas Association of Schools. He became a school board member in 1984 for TMISD, of which he was still serving as Vice President after 23 years of service.
In his community, he was past Chairman of Tancahua Boy Scouts of America, past board member of Corpus Christi Bay Kiwanis, past member of the CC 90 Steering Committee in Education, past member and vice president and secretary of Neighborhood of Corpus Christi, Texas, past member Dr. Hector P. Garcia Chapter of the GI Forum as secretary and vice commander, and the Mayor’s Committees on advice for Veteran Affairs.
Felix is a present member of American Legion Post 364, the honor guard, 1st and 2nd Vice Post Commander. Every year he would present the American Legion Military Excellence Award to the R.O.T.C. students at their ceremony. He was a very proud U.S. Army Veteran and Lifetime member. Felix founded the R.O.T.C. program in the TM School in previous years. He was a past member of the TM Education Foundation and Grant Chairman. He was a past member of the Lulac Education Committee in the Feria de las Flores, past member of the Rural Fire Prevention District #1 as commissioner and treasurer. He received his bright red jacket, which he was very proud of. He was also in the Who’s Who among Hispanic Americans. Felix was a servant to his community.
Felix’s greatest love was his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was loved by all his family and liked by all his friends, which he had many. He loved his Starbucks coffee and his Taquerias Restaurants. He would talk to anyone and everyone. Felix never met a stranger. He lived a very full, Christian life. He will be missed dearly by his family. He was well respected and like by his friends and will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are his sons, Felix IV and Aldo Allen; his grandson, Mathew; son-in-law, Michael Penirelli; nephews, Lance Wycoff and Joe Landin.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 5:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM with entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
