Fidela Gonzalez Lerma

She taught herself to read and write and grew to love reading novels, knitting, gardening, sewing, dancing and loved being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed bingo, gambling and was an avid sports fan. Fidela volunteered many years with the Tuloso-Midway Athletic Booster Club and Oil Belt L.L. She often traveled to Mexico to visit her beloved Tio Sevé, Tia Mari and extended family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Rene; sons, Billy (Delfina), Rene Jr. (Gracie), Kenneth (Kelly) of Boston, MA and Eric (Christina) of Katy, TX; brothers, Bert, Tony and Luis; sisters, Juani, Laura and Mary; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Funeral Mass will be recited on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, 3901 Violet Rd. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
