Genoveva A. Casares

Genoveva Arevalo Casares, 77, was called to become an angel alongside God's chosen on December 24, 2022. Ms. Casares was born on February 5, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, TX. She graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1963 and attended Durham Business College and Del Mar College. She was self-employed as a Consultant and was involved with the political arena for a short time. She enjoyed helping people solve their problems, especially using her “personal” experience as an example. Her favorite scripture to live life by was Matt 7:12: However you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets!

Genoveva is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Mauricio Arevalo Jr. and Mrs. Bertha Benavides Arevalo; grandparents, Mrs. Genoveva Perez Benavides, Mr. Guadalupe Perez Benavides and Mr. Mauricio Arevalo Sr. along with various aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Genoveva is survived by her sons, Pablo Arevalo Longoria III (Felicia), Arnold Arevalo Longoria (Steva) and Albert David Casares; daughters, Sandra Casares Gomez (Gilbert) and Iries Diana Casares Salas (Jaime); grandchildren, Aaron David Casares, Sheila Marie Gracia Lumbreras, Desi Alexandria Gracia, Joshua Tylor Longoria, Joshua Lee Casares, Justin Isaac Gomez and nine great-grandchildren.

Genoveva expressed a super “I love you” to her son, Albert David Casares and her daughter, Sandra Casares Gomez for being there throughout her ordeal with no complaints and lots of patience: may God always hold them in the palm of their hands! Special thanks to her dearest friends, Diana G. Garcia and Donna K. Leonard Fuchs and all the staff at The Shores Apartments for all they did to make her feel comfortable and loved.

Visitation will take place at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm with a Life Celebration to begin at 7:30 pm that same evening.
