

Hector Sanchez age 53 was called Home to be with our Lord on April 18, 2014. He has joined his father Lee Barton; maternal Grandparents, Abel and Magdalena Bravo and paternal grandparents, Jesus and Dora Sanchez.
Hector graduated in 1978 from King High School and furthered his education by obtaining a Associate’s degree in Computer Science from Del Mar College and a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Corpus Christi State University. He was part of the Driscoll Children’s Hospital family for 18 yrs as a computer programmer in the IS dept. Hector was a loyal employee to DCH and volunteered with several DCH events including the annual Children’s Miracle Network. He was an active member of the Fun Bunch committee and was recently named Driscoll’s Hospital Hero.
Hector was a member of the Corpus Christi Kennel Club and the Corpus Christi Obedience Club for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid photographer and the “Biggest/loyal Dallas Cowboy Fan”.
Hector also spent most of his time helping others while here on earth and will continue helping others by sharing the gift of life as an organ donor as he enters eternal life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 yrs, Vangie; his children who he cherished dearly, Mark, Krystina, Frank and Hector Ayrton; his mother Rosalva Barton; his biological father Alvin C. Sanchez; brothers Abel (Rita), Michael (Norma), Jonathan, Tony Barton, Tony (LaVonne) Barton; sisters Janie (Richard) Barton-Gonzales, Rosalva (Carlos) Barton-Trevino and Patricia (Robert) Gonzales and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Southwest transplant Alliance staff, (CCMC) Heart Hospital ICU doctors, nurses and Respiratory therapists. A special thanks to Elena, RN and Armand, RN for their excellent care.
We would also like to thank friends and family for sharing their stories about Hector, and for their kind words and prayers during this difficult time.
Family will be receiving friends on April 24, 2014 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
