Helen Garcia Garcia Gutierrez

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Ruben Gutierrez; dedicated sons, Richard Gutierrez and Roel (Jessica) Gutierrez; grandchildren, Juliana and Patrick Gutierrez; siblings, Paul (Dolores) O’ Riley, Frank (Elva) Cavazos, Sam (Linda) Garcia, Minerva (Pete) Andrade; and best friend, whom she loved as a sister, Janie (Juan) Muzquiz and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Mary Garcia; brothers, Pete and Frank Garcia; sister, Mary Lopez and an aunt Narcissa Gonzalez.

Helen was a caring nurse for over 40 years at Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Bill Dennis. She was a very excellent nurse who was dedicated to helping others. Helen was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was involved in numerous activities in parish life including regent of the Catholic Daughters of America and co-president of Holy Family School P.T.O.

Visitation will begin at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales, on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 9:30 am. Commital to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 am.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Doctors Regional Hospital, Dr. and Mrs. Bill Dennis, Dr. Charles Breeling, Dr. Farbia Zarinetchi, nurse Luz and the Davita Dialysis Center for their excellent efforts and care over the years.
