Isabel De La Rosa

Isabel De La Rosa, age 82, passed from this life to join her Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2012. Isabel was born on November 22, 1929 in Brownsville, TX. What brought her most joy was her husband and family and a fondness for sports of all types.

Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and beloved grandson, David Andrew De La Rosa.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Agustin De La Rosa, whom she married on January 25, 1951; her children, daughter, Cecilia Sosa (Arthur), son, Agustin De La Rosa, Jr. (Amanda), daughter, Sylvia Guerrero (Adan), son, Carlos De La Rosa (Janida), daughter, Velma Obregon (Henry); nine grandchildren, Jacob, Audrey, Agustin III, Nicholas, Benjamin, Carlos Jr., Cristian, Catalina, and Angelique; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Caden, Levi, and Shaylin; and a sister, Julia Gonzalez.

Isabel and Agustin were long time members of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.

The family thanks the management and caregivers at JMJ Assisted Residential Care Home Facility for making her last months pleasant with their close attention, Christian care and for bringing her family much comfort knowing she was in good hands.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Following the service, the family invites family and friends to a reception held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
