

He was born in San Benito, Texas on January 2, 1950 to the late Isaias Montez and Maria Louisa Montez. He graduated from Miller High School and received his degree in machinery while in the military.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving two tours in the Vietnam conflict.
Isaias retired as an aircraft mechanic from CCAD. He enjoyed hunting, electronic and specially auto restoration. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football, baseball and loved traveling with his family on vacations. He was a faithful member of Solid Rock Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Miguel Montez and Carlos Montez; sister, Olga Escamilla.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Oralia Montez; his children, Israel Montez, Joann Montez, Arnold Escobar, Gilbert Escobar, Mel Pena, Marlena McCord, and Jessica Acuna; twenty-two grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren; two sisters, Rosalinda Rodriguez and Minerva Sanchez.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
