

Jasper Garcia Guzman, age 67, passed away November 11, 2016. He was born on August 16, 1949 to Jose Guzman and Anita Garcia in Victoria, Texas. He was raised in Victoria, Texas and graduated High School in 1968. He married his wife, Neavia Brown, of 45+ years on December 19, 1970. He and Neavia moved to Corpus Christi, Texas with their four children in 1982 where Jasper immediately began Barber College. Jasper was employed by Gulfway Barbershop for the past 4 years, where he got his start in 1983, after successfully owning his own Barbershop for more than 20 years. Jasper loved fishing more than anything, only second to his family. He will always be remembered for his devotion to family, as he would drop everything in order to give what he could even when he didn’t have it to give. His stories about the BIG ONE that got away were legendary; no one knew where to go, what to use, and how to reel them in like Jasper! Jasper is preceded in death by his father, mother, 3 brothers, Gilbert, Joe Jr. and Edward Jasper is survived by his wife, Neavia; daughters, Corrina Gentry, Lorrine Gooch and Debra Perez; son, Jasper Guzman; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 6 siblings: Joann, Steve, Ray, Linda, Jesse and Brenda. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Helena of the True Cross of Jesus (7634 Wooldridge 78414) with Inurnment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
