Joe Gordon Carver

Joe Gordon Carver passed away March 9, 2016. He was born July 13, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to Loyd Carver and Elizabeth Elder Carver. He was a 1953 graduate of Karnes City High School. He and his wife moved to Corpus Christi over 55 years ago. He was retired from the Port of Corpus Christi where he worked for 35 years. Joe was a member of the Weber Road Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and a master storyteller. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Judy Carver Nelson. Survivors include his loving Wife of 60 years, Alma Carver; two Daughters, Frankie Carver Saenz and Laura Carver (Dean) Johnson; Eight Grandchildren, Michelle Stuyvesant, Atlee McCampbell, Russell Johnson, Michael Sellers, Brandy Reyna, Allie Honig, Colton Nelson and Bobby Joe Nelson; Fourteen Great-Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Weber Road Church of Christ. Interment in the Old Helena Cemetery will follow at 2:30 p.m.
