Joe F. Rodgers

Joe F. Rodgers, 81, went to be with Jesus on October 12, 2010. He was born in Edna, Texas on May 11, 1929 to Joseph and Catherine (Greenwood) Rodgers. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a military police officer. He retired from Valero Refinery. Joe was a wonderful husband, and father. He was an avid fisherman. Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Oswalt and niece, Judy Hodges.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Patricia Frazier Rodgers of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, Joe A. (Fran) Rodgers of Corpus Christi, Texas; two granddaughters, Suzanne (Jeff) McFarland and Stacy Ritch both of Columbus, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Makinna Rodgers of Columbus, Georgia and soon to be Lawson Scott McFarland; two brother-in laws, Wayne (Kathy) Frazier of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dennis (Barbara) Baros of Corpus Christi, Texas; nieces; Jerri (Kevin) Viken, Kim (Charlie) Lunsford, Sandy (Morris) Wilson, and Amber Baros.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 also at Cage-Mills. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Casual attire is requested. A reception will follow the graveside services. The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the Emergency Room Staff at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital and Dr.Rob Tschauner for the compassion given to our loved one.
