

John is preceded in death by his great love of 50 years, Virginia M.; his mother, Frances E.; his father, John L.; his brothers, Bill, David, and Jimmy; and his sister, Wanda.
He is survived by two children, daughter, Frances Hull (Jeff Galbrath) of Aransas Pass, and her children, Jason (Heather), daughters Alexa, Graci, and son Gage of The Colony, Texas, as well as son Brian (Erin), daughter Hailey, son Logan, and daughter Hannah of Winnsboro, Texas. He is also survived by his son James Hull (Tanya Brown) of San Antonio, and his two daughters, Madeleine Hull of Birmingham, and daughter Margretanne Stewart (Dr. Heath Stewart) of Piedmont, Alabama.
John had many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and cousins, all of whom will miss his presence at family gatherings.
John was a member of the Carol High School class of 1959. Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he was stationed in Denver, Japan, and later Sacramento. While in Denver, he met his great love and married her within a week after returning from Japan. After the Air Force, John moved his family to Plano to begin work at Texas Instruments, where he retired after 35 years. Within five years of retirement, John and Genny moved back to the coast and settled in Aransas Pass to retire and fish with their grandkids.
John was an avid fisherman; he also enjoyed boating, camping, repairing fishing reels, especially Zebco reels.
He was a great neighbor and was generally thought of as the adopted grandfather on the block. He was a great mentor and friend, deeply loved by family and friends.
A viewing and visitation will be held on November 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415. A prayer service will follow at the same location, beginning at 11:30 am. The committal and interment with final military honors will take place at 1:00 pm at the same venue.
