John is survived by his family members, including his brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Beth McQuery, his daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Adrian Gafford, his daughter and son-in-law, Chrissy and David Carrillo, and his son and daughter-in-law, James and Megan McQuery.
He was also grandfather to Daniel McElaney, Claudia Carrillo, Michael Carrillo, Catherine Gafford, Diana Gafford, Annabell McQuery, and Ainsley McQuery.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Christine McQuery, and his father, Herbert McQuery.
John was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he found great joy in serving the community. He was a faithful attendee of Christ the King Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.
