He is preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Emilia G. Montalvo; seven children, Jorge Montalvo (Juanita), Teresa Wilmot (Luis), Maria Magdalena Montalvo, Maria Guadalupe Alaniz(Robert), Jesus Montalvo (Blanca), Emilia J. Gonzales (Raul), and Nicolas Montalvo (Corina). Also surviving him are his 24 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 9:15 am at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, 1101 Bloomington with Funeral Mass to start at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or donations to Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church in rememberance of Jorge S. Montalvo .
