He was born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on September 7, 1929. Jose was a loving father, he was well known and outgoing. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Matilde Chapa and one granddaughter, Tabatha A. Chapa-Perez.
He leaves behind his family to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Maria D. Chapa; four children, Matilde B. Perez (Ernest), Nancy A. Vasquez (Guadalupe), Jose A. Chapa (Linda) and Arturo A. Chapa; seven grandchildren, Xenia A. Vasquez, Audree L. Barrera, Ivan J. Vasquez, Matilda N. Chapa-Perez, Brenden L. Vasquez, Jezebel A. Chapa-Perez and Jose A. Chapa, Jr.; his sisters, Dr. Juanita Chapa, Andrea Fernandez, Juventina Garza, brothers, Pedro Chapa, Guadalupe Chapa, Rafael Chapa and Ausencio Chapa.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening with Father Jairo Motta officiating.
Laid to rest in his home town at the family cemetery in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
