Jose Paz

Jose (Joe) Paz, age 84, of Corpus Christi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at home surrounded by family. Joe was born on December 8, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Antonio and Estefanita Chavez-Paz.

Joe was a dedicated & beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Joe married the love of his life, Irma Garza-Paz on February 14, 1960. They were happily married for 63 years. Joe and Irma were parents to four daughters. Joe enjoyed every minute spending time with his daughters, sons-in-laws, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and watching his favorite Dallas Cowboys play. Joe worked for Winston Plumbing as a Journeyman plumber for 23 years. Joe went on to earn his Master Plumber’s License and started his own plumbing business, Paz Plumbing Service. His plumbing business was a success for over 40 years.

Joe is preceded in death by the love of his life, Irma Garza-Paz, who passed away May 14, 2023, his parents; Antonio & Estefanita Paz, sister; Ramona Saenz, brothers; Antonio Paz Jr., Robert Paz and Manuel Paz; and grandson, Jonathon M. Aleman.

Joe is survived by 4-daughters; Jo Anna Gannon (James), Diane Salazar (Eddie), Rose Ann Garcia, (Tony), Theresa Gonzales (Rey), 10-grandchildren; James Gannon, II, Kirsten Gannon, Joseph Aleman, Kelsey Salazar, Brittany Garcia, Kimberly Garcia, Steven Garcia, Kaytlyn Gonzalez, Jordan Gonzales and Aeden Gonzales,13- great-grandchildren; Gunner Gannon, McKenzie Cevallos, McKayla Cevallos, Sebastian Cevallos, Gavin Aleman, Amber Aleman, Brooklyn Aleman, Aubrey Mercado, Adelina Meza, Kayden Meza, Ariella Garcia, Brayson Garcia and Jhavian Garcia. Sisters; Virginia Martinez (Felipe), and Ofelia Jimenez.

Our family wishes to thank the staff of Angel Bright Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of our dear father.

Visitation will begin Friday, December 29, 2023, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 30, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5830 Williams Drive, Corpus Christi, Tx. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Tx.
