Juan graduated from Moody High School and attended Texas A & I, Kingsville, and Del Mar College. He retired from HEB after a career of 39 years. He enjoyed traveling the United States with his wife, Esmeralda; he especially loved visiting the National Parks. Juan was an avid book reader and had a fondness for comic books.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Alicia Uribe. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 42 years, Esmeralda (Montalvo) Uribe. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Beatrice (Adolfo) Rodriguez, Ana Abarca, Griselda Whipple, Hector Uribe, and Rose Ledesma; brothers-in-law, Nieves (Julie) Montalvo, Eddie Montalvo, Polo Montalvo (Aida), Robert (Sylvia) Montalvo, Roy Montalvo; sister-in-law, Ninfa Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Nieves Montalvo, Jr., David Montalvo, Mario Montalvo, Carlos Montalvo, Alex Montalvo and Jacob Montalvo.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 beginning at 9:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment immediately following at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
