April 21, 2021. She had several illnesses including diabetes. She was married to David Steven Hayden.
Karen had a career as a bank teller for Texas Commerce Bank and Charter Bank; she was the office manager for David Kirk’s law firm for several years along with the office manager for Superior Trailers of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was a member of Church Unlimited and she recently began enjoying the Rockport, Texas location and attended whenever her health permitted.
Karen loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She loved swimming, talking on the phone, listening to music, seeing movies and of course her dogs. She was happiest when she was on the beach at South Padre Island Texas with her husband David.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy DeCrignis and her father Telford Smith.
She is survived by her husband David, son Justin Zimmerman and his wife Leslie, son Ryan Hebner and his wife Anissa, her stepdaughter Abigayle Hayden, two grandsons, Thomas and Jace Hebner, five granddaughters, Addison Hebner, Aubrey Hebner, Mia Zimmerman, Ava Zimmerman, and Ema Zimmerman, several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. Karen was an only child but was blessed to be raised in the same household as her cousins, Stephanie, Sandra, and Gordon and by both her mother and her Aunt Helen Ridge (MUM).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1st at 11:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, C.C. Texas 78415. This will be a cemetery service only and will be her final resting place. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to Autism Speaks in recognition of Bryan Hayden, or any charity of your choice.
