Her early childhood years were spent in Gainesville and Milton, Florida, and later she moved to Austin, Texas, as a young woman, where she became a Texas girl. Annie (Kas) graduated from Milton H. S. (Once a Panther, Always a Panther) in 1993. Annie loved people and was employed in the entertainment and food service industry. One of the jobs she loved most in her early days in Austin was as the head hostess at the famous Oasis restaurant, located on beautiful Lake Travis. It was while working there she met some of her closest friends and colleagues who she cherished to her last day with us. Annie loved the outdoors, hiking, and nature. Her passion was wildlife and rescuing animals. She also loved people. She never met a stranger, and she took time to really listen to people and get to know them. Even when she was in the hospital and in great pain and discomfort, she would always thank those who helped take care of her.
She had the most beautiful smile for everyone, and her smile was contagious. She cherished her time with her family, and although life presented certain obstacles, she always managed to stay positive. She loved doing research. She was a problem solver and would find answers and share them constantly with her family and friends, much to their chagrin (LOL). Annie was a unique, fun-loving, kind-hearted and sometimes opinionated (LOL), beautiful young woman who was taken from us far too soon. She was the type of person who, if you knew her, your life was better for having known her. She was honest and loyal to a fault. She treasured special times with special people – her trips with her dad out West, her visits with her sisters, her dinners with her nieces and nephews, and her talks with her mom.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Teena Jones; her sisters, Lisa and Donna, her brother Kyle, her brother-in-law Donald; and her nieces and nephews: Donaven, Patric, Donald, Leiloni, Cristian, Jada, and Kolton, her dog Chloe, her cat Athena, and very special friends she loved like sisters and brothers.
