

Lesbia Edna Lawley 71, loving mother, sister, daughter and devoted wife joined her heavenly father on July 14, 2014 after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was known as “Liz” to her friends, she embodied a carefree spirit and positive attitude that permeated every facet of her life. Her strong will and determined outlook on life allowed her to endure multiple bouts with cancer. She never allowed the disease to hamper her lifestyle or cripple her happiness. She truly lived life to the fullest and loved with her entire heart.
She was a graduate of Roy Miller High School and enjoyed a long successful career in finance. Liz had a profound sense of spirituality attending Our Lady of Perpetual Help regularly when her health permitted. Her unshakeable Catholic faith sustained her during her health struggles. One of Liz’s greatest loves was her love of dancing, she enjoyed many dances in and around the Corpus Christi with her husband of 21 years, Haskell T. Lawley. Her infectious laugh and razor wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Elia Gonzales Flores, her father Manuel Flores, her daughter, Lorraine Edna Soliz and her brother-in-law, Gilberto Becerra Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Haskell T. Lawley, step-sons Terry (Judy), Scott (Nancy), Russell Eugene; sister Elda Becerra, nephew Gilberto Becerra Jr. (Denise) and niece Kathleen Becerra. She is also survived by many cousins and loving friends.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
