

Mrs. Leal has lived in Corpus Christi since April 1994. She was a resident of Brownsville from 1990-94, and Raymondville since 1930, having moved there from Falfurrias, Texas. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and faithfully served her community in Raymondville for many years. She stood by her husband as together they formed and operated a dairy farm, Fidel Leal Farms, a cattle ranch, and a real estate business, all in Willacy county. She was a member of the Dahlia Social Club and the Guadalupanas while residing in Raymondville. Her life was a life of service to family, friends, church, and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fidel Leal; two sons, Ramon Leal and Dr. Victor Leal; a daughter, Otila Leal Hummer; her mother, Fannie Cameron Perez; her father, Candelario Perez; four sisters and a brother, Martha Perez Villarreal, Hilda Perez Luna, Audelia Perez Rodriguez, Ofira Perez Vecchio and Ponciano Perez .
Mrs. Leal is survived by her five daughters, Viola Leal Salazar, Estella Leal Benavides (Isaac J. Benavides,Jr.), Dr. Odilia Leal, Magdalena Leal Chapa (Enrique Chapa) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Gloria Leal Cortez of Brownsville, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel with a service to held 2:00 p.m. that same day. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
