

Manuel “Bush” De La Cruz., age 51 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2012 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 9, 1960 to Manuel and Olivia De La Cruz. Manuel worked for a short time as a brick layer for Smith and Son’s, Ruben’s Tile for 10 years as a tile setter. He currently worked for HEB in Flour Bluff. The last 3 years he enjoyed his family, fishing and Spanish music. He could sing any spanish song and knew who the artist was. Manuel was a great man to everyone he met. He never met a stranger. He loved his job with HEB. He used to say “Life Is Good”! I’m a partner! He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel De La Cruz, Sr. Manuel leaves behind his family to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Betty De La Cruz; his mother, Olivia De La Cruz; his children, Manuel De La Cruz III, Stephanie (Carlos) Bermudez, Jennifer (Ryan) Hill, Raul (Adrianna) Martinez and Jesse Martinez; ten grandchildren, two sisters, Maria Gloria (Freddie) Cruz and Guadalupe (Ray) Lozano; two brothers, Victor (Norma) De La Cruz, Ruben (Andrea) De La Cruz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Any contributions can be made to Christus Spohn Hospice Organization or The Cancer Society.
