Marlin Cecil "Butch" Evans passed from this world into the arms of his heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his home in Cibolo, TX. Butch entered this world in a BIG way...10 pounds at birth! Born to R D and Dorothy Evans on April 28, 1954 at Spohn Hospital, Corpus Christi, Texas. he was raised in and around the Corpus Christi area; attending Blanche Moore Elementary, Robstown Middle School, London Schools, Paul Haas Jr. High, and Richard King High School. He enjoyed track and field and loved to sing. He became a Christian, and was baptized at Gardendale Baptist Church. Gardendale was his church home for years and he sang in the youth Choir. He went on to work in the oil field for several years and then became a land surveyor, and was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS). Butch loved his family with all of his heart! From his hunting and fishing trips with his brothers, to BBQs, and karaoke with family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. NASCAR was something you didn't change on his TV! If there is karaoke in Heaven, there is no doubt Butch is leading the way with his beautiful voice.
Butch was preceded in death by his father; Rush Dewey "Rusty" Evans; son; Justin Dewey Evans; and one grandson; Marcus Shawn Hogan.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother; Dorothy Evans of Coffeyville, KS; sister: Linda (Robert) Cooper of Coffeyville, KS; brothers; Michael Evans of George West, TX, and Matt (Dee) Evans of Bishop, TX; son; Mark (Robyn) Evans of Springfield, Ohio; daughters; Dayna (Steve) Duplissey of Bastrop, LA, Dawna (Terry) Young of Sterlington, LA, and Darla (William) Leonard of Monroe, LA; daughter-in-law; Margie Cortez Evans of Lytle, TX; and 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
