Martha Ann Mendez, 43, passed away on January 14, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 6, 1982, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Martha lived a full life of laughter, warmth, and unforgettable moments.
She graduated from Bishop High School and later earned her medical assistant degree from STVT Institute. On June 30, 2006, Martha married the love of her life, Gilberto Mendez, in Kingsville, Texas, beginning a marriage filled with devotion, humor, and companionship.
Martha was the founder of the Lotería family club and was known for her love of bingo, maquinitas, and—of course—playing lotería. She found joy in couponing, shopping (especially at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods), makeup, taking photos, and sneaking in a good nap whenever she could. She was a proud wife, devoted dog mom, and the best mom one could have.
She loved barbeques, going to eat crawfish with friends and family, and cooking- especially her caldo- for those she loved. Martha was always supportive of everyone around her, quick with encouragement, and never missed a chance to make someone laugh. A natural jokester, she was best known for her infectious laughter, taking funny pictures, her love of seafood, fine dining, and her ability to turn ordinary moments into cherished memories.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Corona.
She is survived by devoted husband of 19 years, Gilberto Mendez, as well as her parents, Andrea and Julian Alvarez; children, Julie Ann Beltran, Gilberto Rey Mendez, Isaiah Ray Mendez, and Nathaniel Ray Mendez; numerous cherished brothers and sisters; and her beloved grandson Bryson Rey Mendez.
The family would like to thank all their friends and family for the love, support, and the delicious meals they have received during this difficult time.
A visitation will be held on January 18, 2026 at Funeraria Del Angel Corpus Christi, located at 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, TX 78405, from 12pm-6pm.
Martha will be remembered for her big heart, playful spirit, and the laughter she so freely gave. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
