Mary Ruth Kring

Mary Ruth Ramsey Kring, 88, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2013. She was born in Rains County, Texas on January 29, 1925 to Jim Ed and Bertie Mae Ramsey. Mary moved with her family to Corpus Christi as a young child and lived in Corpus Christi most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Vernon Kring.

Mary worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator off and on for more than 22 years, retiring in 1983. She was an active member in the Telephone Company Pioneers for many years. Mary will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit and her sense of humor.

Survivors include her sons, Gordon (Patsy) Zabel of Bryan, Texas and David Kring of Corpus Christi; daughter Linda Kring (Alex McNair) of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Ryan Kring and Maura McNair, and her niece and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all of the people who helped take care of Mary in her last years, and especially Irene Elizondo and her wonderful staff.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 4 p.m. To 7:00 p.m. at Cage Mills Funeral Home, 4901 Everhart Rd. Funeral services will be conducted at Cage Mills on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, or a charity of one's choice.
