Mary M Villanueva

After recently celebrating her 89th birthday, Maria Villanueva passed peaceably into eternal life on Friday, January 26, 2018 with her family surrounding her. Maria was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised by her aunt Ester and sister Elena. She graduated from the Incarnate Word Academy and met the love of her life, Eddie Villanueva. Maria was a full-time housewife and supported her husband in his careers with ButterKrust Bakery, the Hi-Ho bar and ultimately, Eddie’s Bakery and Restaurant. Mary was well traveled and enjoyed cruising the open seas. Her favorite locales were Hawaii and Mexico. Her pastime were gardening and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Maria Del Refugio Tejeda Medal, her husband, Eddie Villanueva, Sr., aunt, Ester Reyes, sister, Elena Reyes, brothers, Albert Medal and Santiago Medal. She is survived by Sal Villanueva (Cheryl), Paula Hernandez (Raul) and Eddie Villanueva, Jr. (Darla), 5 grandchildren: Tristan Hernandez, Erika Post (Jonathon), Madelyn, Sean and Katrina Villanueva and 4 great grandsons: Daniel Smith, Titus and Timothy Post, Aycen Villanueva. She also leaves her loving memories to numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd. Corpus Christi, TX 78415 on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Nuestra Senora De San Juan, Mary Mother of the Church on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
