Melinda Martinez

Melinda was born on December 16, 1966, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Miller High School and later married the love of her life, Ernesto Martinez, on September 19, 1983, in a beautiful home ceremony.

Melinda was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing scratch-off lottery tickets, taking walks, and riding the bus around town. She especially enjoyed trips to the seawall, where she could relax and take in the ocean breeze. Melinda was known for her love of cooking and watching television, always smiling and spreading warmth wherever she went. She had a special fondness for popcorn and pickles, often enjoying them alongside her coca cola.

Melinda was preceded in death by her grandfather Felipe Martinez, grandmother Virginia Martinez, and her brother Juan Miguel Martinez.

She is survived by her parents, Juan and Josefa Martinez; her mother, San Juana Rivera; her husband, Ernesto Martinez; and her daughter, Tiffany Lynn (John De La Rosa Jr.). She also leaves behind her siblings Janie Gonzales (Leon Gonzales, Mary Linda Garcia (Juan Carlos Garcia), Higinia Lerma (David Lerma), Richard Valenzuela (Monica Valenzuela).

Melinda’s legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Julie Emie DeLaRosa, Jayde Milliana DeLaRosa, Jaylie Rally DeLaRosa, and John Ernest DeLaRosa as well as her great-grandchild, Alfonso DeLaRosa Perez Jr.

Melinda will be remembered for her kind heart, her laughter, and her love for family. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
