She was born on July 19, 1927, in Ballinger, Texas, to Alfredo Rodriguez and Manuela "Nellie" Benavidez Rodriguez.
Ofelia married the love of her life, Antonio Ramirez, on September 10, 1947. Together, they built a life rooted in love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. From the young age of 11, Ofelia worked as a helping hand at the farm, and later as a domestic worker. Ofelia always gave her best to provide for her family, especially her devoted husband and cherished children. She was known for her tireless spirit, always the first to rise and the last to rest,
a testament to her tireless and restless spirit.
A woman of deep faith, Ofelia was a proud and devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 50+ years. She was deeply involved in her children's lives, and was actively involved in the PTA at her children’s schools, den mother for Cub scouts and as a team mother for their little league teams.
She had a passion for hosting family and friends, cooking, gardening, sewing, playing Bingo and going to the Casinos. Above all, Ofelia was known as a truly great cook. Her Christmas tamales and menudo were legendary—prepared with love and eagerly anticipated by all who gathered at her table and home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Rodriguez and Manuela "Nellie" Benavidez Rodriguez; her beloved husband, Antonio "Tata" Ramirez; her daughter, Lillie Marie McDaniel; her son, Antonio "Tony" Juan Ramirez Jr.; and her grandson, Antonio “Pokey” Juan Ramirez III; siblings, Elida Silvas, Israel Rodriguez, Guale Rodriguez, Sophie Coverg, Alfredo Rodriguez, Jr., and her half-brothers Isidro Parra and Gilbert Parra.
Ofelia is lovingly survived by her two Sons, Arnold Ramirez (Mary Lou) and Richard Ramirez (Lety); Son in Law, Wayne McDaniel; 10 Grandchildren, Wayne McDaniel (Amy), Brian McDaniel (Tracy), Josh McDaniel, Eric McDaniel (Adriana), Veronica Bookbinder Rispler, Mike Ramirez, Jessica Ramirez, Richard Lee Ramirez (Andrea), Christopher Ramirez, and Andrea Hickey (David); as well as her 18 Great-Grandchildren, along with extended family.
Those having the honor to serve as pallbearers are, Lee Ramirez, Christopher Ramirez, Mike Ramirez, Wayne McDaniel, Josh McDaniel, and Eric McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Silvas, David Silvas and David Ramirez.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Andrea Ayala, Ofelia's personal caretaker, who was loving and attentive to Ofelia the last three years of her life. A special thank you to Connie Rios who served as her Ambassador, and the entire staff at Wellsential Health for their compassionate care.

A visitation will be held for Ofelia on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel located on 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78411. The family will be welcoming guest again on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 8:30am before departing to Holy Family Catholic Church located for her Holy Mass at 10:00am with her interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
