Olga P. Valls

1940-2022

Olga Valls passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Olga was born in Alice, Texas and spent her formative years there. Upon meeting the love of her life, Luis Angel Valls, she relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas. She began work at Dillard’s Department Store in 1973 and enjoyed a successful 32 year career until her retirement. During her career at Dillard’s she was frequently recognized as a Pacesetter for top salesperson of the year. She was often a MVP on the “Dillard’s Dusters” softball team and a championship bowler. She was blessed to have made many lifelong friends during her career and was adored by all who knew her.

During her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband, antiquing, crafting and dining out. Her biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Olga was the life of the party and never met a stranger. Her quick wit and humor brought joy to all. She welcomed all of her son's friends into her house, treating them all as if they were her own.

Olga was preceded in death by her mother Manuela Arredondo, her brother Jesus “Chuy” Arredondo and her sister Aurora Salinas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Luis Angel Valls, her sons Robert (Kristi), Richard (Sharon), John (Crystal) and Rodney (Serena). Grandchildren Ashley and Kevin (Robert and Kristi), Mia and J.J. (John and Crystal). Great-grandchildren Wyatt and Kensley (Ashley and Ken).

Her brother Joe Pena (Esther) and their children including numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel located at 3442 Holly Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas. Luis and Olga were faithful parishioners of 60+ years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in her name to Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, www.catholiccharities-cc.org

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, burial services to follow thereafter at 11:00 AM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
