

Omar Rene Salinas, age 41, of Corpus Christi Texas, passed away on May 8, 2024. He was born in Spring Texas, on April 11, 1983 to parents Oscar Rene Salinas and Norma Jean Salinas.
Omar graduated from Tuloso - Midway High School the year 2001. He was married to Virginia Salinas on July 31, 2004 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Omar went on to work for PSC Group. He also worked at Kirby Logistics on the Port, and also worked for Flint Hills Refineries as an operator.
He had a passion for watching the Astros in his garage. He enjoyed playing video games, golf, and to fishing and hunting. Omar loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed spending time with his daughter Jersey building Legos. Our favorite memory of Omar is hanging out with him in the garage watching the Astros play everyday. He loved going to Garner State Park and the Frio River was like Heaven to Omar. He was well known for his BBQ and quick witty jokes.
Omar is preceded in death by his mother Norma Jean Salinas, grandmother Connie Estrella, grandfather Ricardo Salinas, and grandmother Rosa Salinas.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Salinas of 20 years, and his daughter Jersey Salinas. Left to cherish his memories are his step-brothers, David Garcia, Marcos Gutierrez, and his step-sister Mellissa.
I would like to thank everyone on behalf of myself and our daughter Jersey who genuinely loved our Omar. He will always be that great and special father and friend.
A visitation for Omar will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A holy rosary will occur Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A church mass will occur Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Prince Of The Apostles, 3901 Violet Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
