Oscar H. Garcia Sr.

Oscar H. Garcia Sr., age 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on September 10, 2025. He was born on January 5, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas. On January 8, 1971, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Garcia, and together they built a life full of love and family.

Oscar proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. After his service, he worked as a dedicated security guard. Known for his warm sense of humor, Oscar loved watching cowboy movies, telling jokes, and making his sons laugh. His laughter and joyful presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Victoria H. Garcia and Gumecindo Garcia Sr.; his brothers, Gumecindo Jr. and Augustine Garcia; and his sister, Maria Luisa Perales.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Juan Garcia, Oscar Garcia Jr., and Carlos Garcia; his brothers, Pete Garcia and Lorenzo Garcia; and his sisters, Janie Avalos and Minerva Garcia.

Oscar was also a proud grandfather to Johnathan Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Elexys Garcia, Lesley Garcia, Oscar Garcia, Teresa Garcia, Samantha Garcia, and Esperanza Garcia, and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.

Oscar will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the laughter he left behind.

A visitation for Oscar will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Corpus Christi, 549 Cheyenne St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. A holy rosary will occur Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 19, 2025 at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 710 S 19th St, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A burial will occur Friday, September 19, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX.
