

Oscar Raymond (Ray) Haley, 95, passed away on March 8, 2011. He was born on May 10, 1915 in Poker Grove, near Ada, Oklahoma to Oscar Randolph and Addie Blanche (Clarke) Haley. He was raised on farms and completed high school in Oklahoma and was briefly in the Oklahoma National Guard. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas as a young man and worked as a horse groom before marrying Pauline Olivia Thompson in 1939. After marrying he worked in paint and wallpaper sales in Fort Worth, traveling in north Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Oscar was a Master Mason for over fifty years. They reared their children in Lake Worth, Texas. They were members of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church in Azle, Texas. After retirement in Azle they moved to Corpus Christi in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Randolph Haley and Addie Blanche Clarke, his older brothers, William, James and Richard all of Fletcher, Oklahoma, his younger brother, Lee Haley of San Francisco, California, his sister, Betty Witt of Fletcher, Oklahoma, and his daughter, Sandra Quinn of Fort Worth, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Olivia Thompson of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, Samuel R. Haley of Port Aransas, Texas; grandsons, Jason Wooldridge of Fort Worth, Texas, Matthew Haley of Fort Worth, Texas, Sean Haley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Morgan Haley of Los Angeles, California, Joshua Haley of Humble, Texas, and great grandchildren, Sarah, Karmen, Zack, Seth, Zoe, and Eden.
A private family memorial service is pending.
