

Paulo Rivera, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on December 8, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Paulo lived a life filled with music, laughter, hard work, and deep devotion to his family.
Paulo is preceded in death by his parents, Maria Magdalena Villafranco and Jose Rivera Sr.; his sister, Victoria Segura; his eldest grandson, Edward Rivera; and his former spouse, Carmen Monsibaiz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalinda B. Rivera, with whom he shared 12 wonderful years of marriage until his passing. Paulo was stepfather to Jennifer Flores, Rudy Flores (Maria), and Jessica Dominguez (Mike), and a proud step-grandfather to seven grandchildren.
In 1979, Paulo married Carmen Monsibaiz and fathered two daughters, Peggy Rivera Velasco (John) and Isabel Monsibaiz Rivera. He was blessed with five grandchildren from this union.
His first marriage was to Maria del Rosario Castillo in 1965, and fathered five children: Paul Rivera, Frank Rivera, Anthony Rivera, Alvina Rivera, and Veronica Rivera Quintanilla (Michael). Together, they gave him 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride.
Paulo is also survived by his cherished siblings, Ermelinda Rios (Richard) and Jose Rivera Jr. (Susana), as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A man of many talents and passions, Paulo was known for his love of music—especially singing church psalms and Freddy Fender songs while strumming his guitar. Known affectionately as el músico, his voice and melodies brought joy to family gatherings. He enjoyed being outdoors landscaping or working on cars. A dedicated worker, Paulo rose early each day, instilling his unmatched work ethic in his children. Known for his quick wit and signature sarcasm, Paulo brought laughter and energy wherever he went and was often the life of the party. These characteristic traits live on through his family.
Family and friends are invited to Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78405 for a Visitation on April 25, 2025 beginning at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 PM that evening.
Paulo Rivera leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, music, and family—one that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
