Pedro "Pete" Mendiola Jr.

Pedro “Pete” Mendiola Jr. age 63 a lifetime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born on August 17, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas to his parents, Pedro Mendiola Sr. and Juanita Mendiola.

Pedro joined the United States Army on July 10, 1969 and was stationed in Maryland & Germany where he served until 1973. He began working at the Corpus Christi Army Depot Base in 1974 where he would later retire from. He was a long time member at St. Patricks Church and later joined Metodista Libre Evangelica Church with his wife Maria Del Rosario Mendiola. He was the kind of man that would give you his last dollar if you needed it. He enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, working around the house, playing jokes on everyone, spending time with his children, his grandkids and great grandkids.

He was a loving father, husband, grandpa and brother that will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He enjoyed eating at his favorite restaurant “Whataburger” with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father Pedro Mendiola Sr. and his mother, Juanita Mendiola.

Pedro is survived by his loving wife, Maria Del Rosario Mendiola: three daughters, Lisa Marie (Juventino) Quinones, Lisa Melissa (Joe) Moreno Jr., Crystal (Edward) Chavez: one son, Javier Mendiola. He is also survived by 6 brothers: Johnny Mendiola, Carlos Guzman of San Antonio, Alfredo (Patty) Mendiola of Round Rock, Alfonso (Sylvia) Rodriguez of Michigan, Daniel Mendiola, Tony (Ruth) Cruz, Rosanne (Daniel) Hernandez of San Antonio, Lilly (Rick) Barton of California, Linda Mendiola of Washington, Elizabeth Guzman of California, Rachel Guzman of California, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends at Funeraria del Angel –Cheyenne from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2013 with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm and a prayer service at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Service to be held at Funeraria Del Angel at 11:30 am on Friday, February 15, 2013 with burial at 1:00 pm at the Coastal Bend State Veteran Cemetery.
