Pilar H. Olivarez

Maria Del Pilar Olivarez, 89, went to be with Our Heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family, on June11, 2014. She was born November 3, 1924 in Mathis, Texas to Manuel Hernandez and Candida Zapata Hernandez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Enrique Olivarez; her parents and four sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lupe (Juan) Bautista, Leonor (Ben) Longoria, Henry (Esmeralda) Olivarez, Lydia Olivarez and one brother, Eduardo Hernandez. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren, Laura (David) Lamb, Marisa Bautista, Benjamin (Anita) Longoria, Michael Longoria, Lisa Longoria, Melissa (Michael) Molina, Amanda Olivarez (Ted Olivarez), Andrew (Pam) Olivarez and 13 great-grandchildren.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Benjamin Longoria, Michael Longoria, Andrew Olivarez, Michael Molina, Joseph Salinas, Jr. and Ted Olivarez.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
