Rachel Irene De La Garza

Rachel Irene De La Garza, 78 was called to be with our heavenly Father on March 17, 2023. She was born in Refugio, Texas on July 8, 1944 to Gustavo Reyna and Irene Garcia Reyna. She was a retired nutritionist from Texas A&M University after dedicating 30 years of service. Rachel was able to pursue her passion for cooking where she would lead nutrition classes for various schools, institutions and private homes. Rachel was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and will greatly be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elias De La Garza and her son Francisco Delgado III.

She is survived by her daughters Laura (Elias) Davila; Esmeralda Kelly (Pete Sierra) and her sons Paul Gaytan; Gerardo (Ernesto) Villegas.

Siblings; Gustavo Reyna; Reynaldo Reyna; Roberto Reyna; Liana Reyna; Antonio Reyna.

Grandchildren; Sergio Delgado; Karla Delgado-Huard; Kristian Leal; Christopher Kelly; Zackary Kelly; Gerardo Gaytan Jr.; Emily Gaytan; Olivia Delgado & five beautiful great-grand children.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. that same afternoon. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
