Rafael M. Flores

Rafael M. Flores, 85, passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas, at home surrounded by his family, on October 19, 2021. He was born on October 18, 1936, in Edinberg, Texas to parents, Julian and Etuimia Flores.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Raynaldo Flores; sisters-in-law, Rita Flores, Clara Flores; and brother-in-law, Ernest Trevino.

Rafael was a loving and devoted, husband, father and grandfather. He was very devoted to his family and will be missed by everyone that knew him. He had the best sense of humor and was always joking, even as his illness worsened. He loved billiards, darts, family barbecues and dancing. He retired from many companies over the years, and was an air conditioning mechanic by trade.

Rafael is survived by the love of his life, of 35 years, Odilia T. Flores; daughter, Zina Worthington (Jay Worthington); granddaughter, Lu Ann McDonald; grandson, Jason Piwetz; step-children, Laura Perez and Romeo Perez Jr.; step-grandchildren, Romeo Perez III, Diego Perez and Mireya Hinojosa (his mijita querida); siblings, Julian Flores Jr., Jose Flores, Eva Trevino, Irma Sifuente, Faustino Sifuente and Maria Flores, of California; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and his two dogs, who he loved dearly, Misty and Princess.

Visitation will be held on November 4, 2021, at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service and Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of Del Cielo Hospice, for all the care given to Mr. Flores.
