

Ramiro “Ram” Salinas, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 26, 1936 to Felix and Maria De Los Angeles Salinas in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. As a child, his family moved to Corpus Christi where he spent his entire life. He later met and married his wife Rosita whom he was married to for 56 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marcos Noyola, Sr. and Manuel Salinas; grandson, Matthew Marroquin; in-laws, Pascual and Dominga Luna and sister-in-law, Viola Salinas.
He leaves behind to honor his memory his wife, Rosita; children, Mario (Norma), Daniel (Isabel), Brenda (Edward) Eisele, Roger (Sara) and Linda (Carlos) Marroquin all of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Mario (Yoli), Yvonne (Roman) Lopez, Christopher (Stephanie), Benjamin, Thomas Joel and Elizabeth Cantu, Ian and Jacquelene Eisele, Roger Rey, Shelbie, Richard Perez, Mikayla and Mattie Marroquin; great-grandchildren, Krista, Jonah, Seriah, Shayla, Zion and Mario III. Other survivors include his sister, Elida (Chano) Madrigal; brothers, Humberto “Chino” (Sylvia) and Maximo (Irma); sister-in-law, Lucy Noyola and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ram was a shoe salesman his entire life working for Cardinal’s I Miller and Bill’s Shoe Box until he retired. He was a Semi-Pro Baseball Player for the Corpus Christi Seals. He was also an avid golfer and a member of the Pan American Golf Association for many years. Ram had a passion for music and dancing. He spent much of his spare time singing with family members and friends. His voice and never ending humor brought joy to all who knew him. He was “The Life of the Party”. He was well known for his hospitality and friendly personality. In retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mario Salinas, Jr., Christopher Salinas, Benjamin Salinas, Roger Rey Salinas, Richard Perez, and Ian Eisele. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Joel Cantu, Marcos Noyola, Jr. and Fernando Salinas.
The family would like to thank the staff of Christus Spohn Shoreline and Legacy Home Health for all the loving care and support they provided. They would also like to express special thanks to his daughter, Brenda, who went above and beyond in caring for her dad in his last days.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a memorial talk at 7:00 p.m.at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. A remembrance talk will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
