Ramon will be profoundly missed, but his lifelong devotion to Jesus is being rewarded with a never-ending reunion with those who have died before him. Ramon was a Corpus Christi Firefighter for 16 years, then worked for Citgo Petroleum where he retired in 2002, after 21 years of service. Ramon loved the game of golf, and he was a member and the Past President of Pan American Golf Association. He was inducted into the Roy Miller High School Hall of Fame in 2012.
Ramon is preceded in death by his parents, brother, sisters, and grandson-Brandon Angel Castillo.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Josie Castillo; daughter Peggy Sanders of Austin, Texas and son Ruben (Rene) Castillo; two grandchildren: Ian Sanders and Whitney Rae Castillo; siblings: Ramon B. Castillo of Corpus Christi, Rosemary Parra and Anita Martinez both of Hemet, California; sister-in-law Maria Matta; niece Joyce Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
