Reymundo Campa Rodriguez, a beloved father and hard-working individual, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on May 4, 1935, in Devine, Texas, Reymundo was a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Reymundo proudly served in the US Navy, achieving the rank of Aviation Mechanics Mate Second Class. While serving in the US Navy in Vietnam, on a mission over hostile territory, the pilot was wounded. He successfully flew the aircraft returning to the carrier, saving the pilot and 7 crew members, for which he received a bronze star and was awarded his wings. His dedication and service to his country were a source of pride for his family and community. After the military, he worked and retired at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel.
He was married to Mary Esther Hernandez on July 20, 1957, and together they shared a life filled with love and companionship. Reymundo had a passion for hunting, camping, boating, fishing, and spending time with family, which brought him great joy and fulfillment.
Reymundo is survived by his daughters, Rita Ann DeLeon (Daniel DeLeon Jr.), Tina Louise Rodriguez, and Yolanda Rose Ulibarri (+), his son, Edward Douglas Rodriguez (+), and his sister, Estela Sanchez. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Chivito.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Rodriguez and Matiana Campa Rodriguez, as well as his siblings, Elvira Aguinaga, Herlinda, Sara Ornelas, Fidel Rodriguez, Lasaro Rodriguez, Enrique Rodriguez, and Consuelo Alvarado.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, located at 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, on February 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at the same venue on February 4, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be conducted at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart on February 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Committal Service will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH-37, Corpus Christi, TX 78410, on February 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
Reymundo's legacy of dedication, love, and service will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
