He served in the United States Air Force where he achieved the rank of Corporal; and worked as an electric motor repairman until he retired in 1995.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvino and Tomasita Villarreal; 2 brothers, Alvino “Sonny” Villarreal, Jr. and Jimmy Villarreal.
Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Elena Villarreal; 3 sons, Robert Villarreal, Jr., (Pat), Daniel Villarreal (Rosa), and Arnold Villarreal (Ida); 3 daughters, Christine V. Maldonado, Gracie V. Moya (Ricky), and Linda Villarreal. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grand-children; sister, Mary Helen Tunches and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
