He was preceded in death by his parents Domingo Flores Rodriguez and Maria Almanza Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Aurora “Goris” Barron, of Corpus Christi, Texas and their children, Rozy (27), Rayanne (24), Brenda (23), David (23), Adam (16), Hardis (9) and one granddaughter Aubrey (2), all of Corpus Christi, Texas. His five brothers Rudy (Velma) Rodriguez, Rick (Venessa) Rodriguez, Roger (Melinda) Rodriguez, Chris (Aimee) Rodriguez, and James Rodriguez with one beautiful sister Rose (Odel) Mendoza. He also survived by numerous nieces and nephews which he loved very much.
Roel graduated from Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, Class of ‘84. He was extremely popular, he loved playing sports and excelled at baseball, basketball, track, football, golf, bowling, softball, and fishing. He worked at and obsessed over Grandy’s. He then went to work for H-E-B for 25+ years. Followed by 13 years at the Port of Corpus Christi. He touched many people and was always doing his best to be there and help everyone. There are so many stories to hear about him, and he could find someone he knew everywhere he went. He was a very loving, hardworking, and helpful man. He will forever be missed and in our hearts.
