Roel “Roro” Andres Elizondo, 28, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2024. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on October 7, 1996, to his parents DeAnne “DeeDee” Perez and Roland “Red” Edward Elizondo.
Roel graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 2015. He went to work for Brister Surveying, Inc. in 2020, where he was a Crew Chief Survey Technician. This work family called him “the Machine.” Roel loved his job and all his fellow coworkers that have all become family.
Roel was a proud member of Rocks Vitamins and Gym. He had a passion for going to the gym, gaming, concerts, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. He was a major sports fanatic and rooted for his favorite teams which included: the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, and the Dallas Mavericks.
Some of the family’s favorite memories of Roel were traveling to see his brother Diego and family, camping at the Frio River every summer, spending holidays with his family and all his friends, watching him play pool in pool tournaments, attending rock concerts, and watching him cook and barbeque in their backyard. He was the best cook because he learned everything he knew from his beloved Momma.
Roel was most known for his famous laugh – the best laugh in the world – and his contagious smile. Through his selflessness, he earned the nickname “the Gentle Giant.” He was always well mannered and very respectful to all those around him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and love him.
Roel is preceded in death by his grandmother, Graciela “Nanita” Saenz Perez and grandfather, Guadalupe “Grandpa Lupe” Benavidez Elizondo.
Roel is survived by his mother, DeAnne “DeeDee” Perez (Jose V. Garcia); father, Roland “Red” E. Elizondo; siblings, Diego Alejandro Perez-Puentes (Jaslyn Perez-Puentes), Kandace Marie Elizondo, Krystal Lynn Elizondo (Juan Jose Trejo), and Viviana Trevino (Jaiden Presley Jasso); grandmother, Josie “Grandma Josie” Elizondo; grandfather, Jose “Papoo” Roel Perez; aunt, Katherine “Kay” “Aunt Kako” Perez Carrillo; uncles, Cristobal “Cris” “Coco Cris” Perez (Lauren Schielack), Alex “Uncle Wero” Elizondo (Lucy Alverez), Richard “Ricky” “Uncle Ricky” Elizondo (Terresa Foster); beloved puppies, Cinnamon and Marshmellow; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and best friends who have become family.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the family and Roel’s best friends that have become brothers and family: Roland Pimentel, Andrew Buenrostro, Jerome Aranda, Henry Lamb, Josh Galvan, Taylor Salinas, Jeff Barragan, Xavier Flores, and Matthew Vela just to name a few (but there is many, many more). This world will never be the same without your beautiful soul in it. We would also like to thank everyone for all the donations, gifts, texts, and messages. We greatly appreciate all the sympathy, prayers, and help. Roel would be amazed for all these kind gestures. He loved you all dearly.
