Ronald Bernard Simmons Sr.

Ronnie was born to Carl and Ruth Simmons, December 24, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland. He married Gwendolyn Price just shy of 54 years of marriage, and they lived together in Corpus Christi,Texas. Together they raised six children and were dedicated members of Greater Powerhouse COGC.

Ronnie worked as a mechanic salesman at Clemtex for 35 years. He enjoyed doing bible study and watching golf, western and sci-fi movies. He was also actively involved in donating to “Love A Child”.

He is survived by and also leaves to cherish his memory; three children, Leslie (Ermelinda) Simmons, Ronald (Katina) Simmons, Jr., Cheyanne Ponder; grandchildren, Ronald Simmons III, Decandice Simmons, Keshawne Simmons, Yulie’Anna Simmons, Eliyahu Simmons, Kevin Simmons II, Christopher Simmons, AJ Simmons, DeQuayis Simmons, Anthony Simmons, Aaron Simmons and Noah Simmons; great-grandchildren, Logan Simmons, Delilah Villarreal, Adalia Villarreal, Marcellus Villarreal, and Shine Love Adames. Ronnie is also survived by his siblings, Deborah Williams, Carolyn Fleming, Michael Simmons, and Timothy Simmons. Along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gwendolyn; sons, Christopher and Kevin Simmons; daughter, Decandice Simmons; granddaughter, Ariel Simmons; sister, Brenda Smith and brother, Caroll Simmons.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
