Rosalia Izabel Sanchez

Rosalia was born to Fred and Margarita Villanueva on September 4, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1965. She married Victor Sanchez on April 21, 1965, and they raised five children.

She is survived by her children Victor Sanchez Jr (Marilyn), Alex Sanchez (Krystal), Marco Sanchez, Benjamin Sanchez (Veronica), and Veronica Sanchez (Efrain). She also leaves to cherish her memory 39 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, siblings Fred Villanueva, Esperanza Sharp, Adelita Villanueva, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Victor G. Sanchez Sr, her parents Fred and Margarita Villanueva, and her sister Avelina Johnson.

Rosalia was as a homemaker and worked for Corpus Christi Independent School District in the Menger Elementary cafeteria for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was also actively involved in Christ the King Catholic Church with the Catholic Daughters, rosary making, Saint Monica’s prayer warriors, and the 1st Saturday Fatima group when she was able.

The family would also like to thank the numerous medical staff that have helped and assisted her throughout her medical journey.

Rosalia enjoyed eating at Bill Miller’s and Whataburger. She loved playing all things UNO, dominos, monopoly, and all types of bingo. She enjoyed watching old westerns and going to the movies. She recently found a love for going to the Gatesville Drive-in theater. She loved her visits to Bucee’s when she traveled. Rosalia also enjoyed supporting her kids in their events, and she continued to support even her grandkids and great-grandkids. After her husband’s death in 2011, she would visit with her daughter Veronica. She got to experience many different areas of the States due to her son-in-law Efrain Sanchez serving with the US Army.

A visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, TX, 78415, on February 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at the same location on the same day from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3423 Rojo St, Corpus Christi, TX, 78415, on February 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The committal will follow at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A reception will be held at the same location from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
