

Ruben S. Ballien, 72, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on November 28, 2025. Born on December 18, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Ruben lived a vibrant and spirited life rooted deeply in the community he loved.
A gifted singer and dancer, Ruben shared his passion for music with everyone around him. He performed as part of a band, bringing joy to many through his talent and his lively presence on stage. His favorite song, “El Rey,” was a reflection of his proud, enduring spirit.
Ruben honorably served his country in the United States Army, a period of his life that he carried with immense pride. Outside of his musical and military accomplishments, he was an enthusiastic sports fan who could always be found cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Longhorns, and the Houston Astros.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, whose memories remained close to him throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving sister, Adalia Reyna; Her husband, Miguel Uresti; and Adalia's children: Jesse Jonathon Zamora, Emily Grace Reyna, and Isabella Kay Amparan. He is also survived by many cousins who will remember him fondly.
Ruben will be remembered for his warm heart, his love of music, and the happiness he brought to others through his voice, his humor, and his unwavering Texas pride.
May he rest in peace.
