Ruby Hampton Arkadie, 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away at the hospital on Friday, December 18, 2020. She was born to Whitt Hampton and Gladys (Yoakum) Mitchell of Gonzales, Texas on January 22, 1936.
Ruby enjoyed helping everyone and everything she could. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. Ruby never met a stranger. She had the biggest heart.
She was employed with Spohn Hospital as a trauma nurse where she retired in 1995.
In 1957, Ruby married Horace W. Arkadie in Gonzales, Texas. To this union they were blessed with one daughter, three sons, one god-daughter and one step-son.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Whitt Hampton and Gladys (Yoakum) Mitchell, three sisters: Aline Collins, Pearl Alice Hampton and Ada Hampton; one son, Robert Arkadie and her beloved husband, Horace W. Arkadie.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memories; daughter, Cynthia Arkadie Griffin (James) of Mesquite, Texas; sons, Horace W. Arkadie, Jr. (Jacqueline) and Whitt Albert Arkadie (Tracey) both of Corpus Christi, Texas; god-daughter, Peaches Clacken of Maryland, and step-son, Stanley Arkadie (Wanda) of Portland, Oregon; twenty grandchildren; Cene, Jarrett, HP, Peyton, Karl, Sydney, Monte, Timothy, Precious, Nisa, Roger, Darren, Heather, Kyra and a host of great-grandchildren. She was also an honorary grandmother to many that she loved and cared for deeply.
Honored to service as pallbearers: Jarrett Griffin, HP Arkadie, Timothy Arkadie, Karl Arkadie, Roger Arkadie and James Griffin; honorary pallbearers: Danny Stevens, Kamal Wells, and Jacob Moreno.
Repass dinner plates, for carryout only, will be available at the family home located at: 1402 Casa de Oro Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78411. Masks are required and please adhere to Covid Restrictions.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 8:30 AM. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
