Sandra graduated from Roy Miller High School and then attended Del Mar College. She married Mark Crider on July 27, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sandra worked for Amaco Production Company as an administrative assistant to the area supervisor for many years. After retirement, she went on to own and operate several antique shops, with the last being Keeping Up With the Jones in Odem, Texas.
A formal and respectful remembrance of Sandra would be incomplete without noting her spirited, humorous nature and the many things she genuinely enjoyed. She traveled around the world hunting large game, with Alaska and Africa among her favorites. She loved collecting antiques and was especially proud of her doll head vases, wall pockets, hat pin, and marble collections. She also enjoyed spending weekends at their deer leases, spending hours hunting arrow heads with her dear friend Carol Siddons.
She enjoyed sitting around the camp fire with friends, reminiscing about years past, telling stories, and joking. She made the best margaritas using her own home grown key limes. She loved watching old western movies with her caregivers and listening to her favorite country music each night before going to sleep. She was most known for her great sense of humor.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Thalia Jones; her brothers, Jay Ritchie, Carol Dean, and Dwain; her husband, Mark Crider; and her granddaughter, Allison Danielle Cash.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Denise Cash; her great grandson, William Clayton Mahan; and her sister-in-law, Norma Jones. She is also survived by long time close friends Carol Siddons, Mary DeLaGarza Thomas, Dana Danford, and Roy Sinclair; longtime caregivers Brenda Davila, Teresa Pena, and Diana Sifuentes; and long time employees Georgia Root, David Charles, and Amy Molina, who were like family to her.
Four days before she passed, Sandra fondly remembered that as children, she, her brothers, and cousins loved when their aunt Bonnie would roll Easter eggs down a hill for them to catch and collect into their baskets every Easter. Sandra loved bluebonnets and had been asking if the bluebonnets were blooming on the sides of the highway yet. Due to the drought, there really had not been many this year—so a planter, some seeds, and a whole lot of love and excitement came together as she planted her very own bluebonnets in early February. Thankfully, she was able to see and enjoy the fruits of her labor: a planter full of her very own beautiful bluebonnets.
