Saul Barbosa

Saul Barbosa, 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on May 17, 2025. He was born in Weslaco, Texas, November 17, 1931. Saul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Weslaco High School then soon after joined the military where he served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. After serving his country, he went on to pursue higher education at Pan American College in Edinburgh, Texas. He dedicated many years working for the US Postal Service, finally retiring at the age of 60.

Saul is preceded in death by his parents Lucas O. Barbosa and Celia Pena Barbosa, as well as his brother, Tony Barbosa. He is survived by his wife, Amelia G. Barbosa of 69 years, one son and three daughters, Selina (Daniel) Tranbarger, Thelma Jean (Russell) Canales, Leroy (Angela) Barbosa and Diana (David) Gebhardt, as well as 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Frank Barbosa, Lydia Garza, Hilda Lopez & Clara Castaneda.

Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Church, 5830 Williams Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78412. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery.
