

Senen was married to his high school sweetheart and love of his life Connie for 50 years. Senen graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1957 after being a standout football player with the Buccaneers. He later would be inducted into Miller High School Hall of Fame. He attended Del Mar College, where he played football for the Vikings. He transferred to Texas A&I and completed an Engineering Degree.
After college, he served in the US Army Reserves for 6 years. He started to work as a substitute teacher during his service, and he was able to earn a certification to teach math and coach.
He taught and coached at several schools, including Driscoll Middle School, Foy H. Moody High School, Miller High School, Port Isabel, La Joya High School and San Antonio Edgewood. He earned Coach of the Year honors at CCISD in 1990 as a Head Coach at Moody High School. Senen was an FCA Mentor and board member for several years and frequently hosted events at his home. He retired as an Assistant Principal for the Dallas ISD.
He was a Christian and loving father. He was well respected by everyone he came in contact with throughout his coaching and teaching career.
Senen is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Fermina Perez; twin brother, Abdon G. Perez, Sr.; wife, Concepcion “Connie” Perez and daughter, Selena Ann Perez.
Senen is survived by his siblings, Marcos G. Perez (Gloria), Ines G. Perez (Sharon), Carmen Perez Villarreal, Gloria Flores, Patsy Delarosa (Benny), Cynthia Chapa, Alfred Boyd (Honorary Brother); children, Elizabeth (Liz) Perez Muniz, Senen “Sonny” G. Perez, Jr. (Bernice), Connielou Perez-Ortiz (Noe Ortiz, Sr.), Cliff Perez, Sr. (son in law); grandchildren, Cliff Perez, Jr. (Brenna), Cyle Perez, Jonathan Perez, Brianna Perez, Victoria Perez, Matthew Muniz (Erin), Gabriana Ortiz, Ariana Morales (Rey), and Noe Ortiz, Jr.; great-grandson, Clark Edward Perez and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Senen will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A prayer service will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 6:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A burial will occur Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:15 AM.
